New Year, New Recipes!
We’re kicking off 2024 with this recipe for a sweet treat.
Vera Powell’s Chocolate Crackles
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar
4 unbeaten eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. powdered sugar
Melt chocolate over hot water. Blend in oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla, then dry ingredients. Add nuts. Chill well. Shape into small balls and roll in sugar. Grease pan. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.
