Recipe: Yule Jules

¾ c. butter

¼ c. sugar

⅓ c. vanilla yogurt

2 eggs

1 pkg. yellow cake mix, 2-layer size

1 c. candied red cherries, cut in quarters

1 c. candied green cherries, quartered or use all red

1 c. candied pineapple, cut into half-inch pieces

2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Thoroughly cream together butter and sugar. Add yogurt. Add eggs one at a time. Beat at medium speed 3 to 5 minutes. (Mixture will have curdlike appearance.) Gradually add cake mix, beating at low speed until blended. Then slowly fold in small amounts of the fruit and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375° oven for 12 to 14 minutes. Allow to stand 2 or 3 minutes before removing to cooling rack. Makes about 80 cookies.
