Wine is a fast-growing industry in Iowa. It’s nothing new to the Amana Colonies though! Vintners have been making wine here for 150+ years.
In the past, each village had its own vitner and vineyards. They used grapes found within the villages to make their communal supply of wine. You’ll see many buildings and yards within the Colonies still sport grapevines, including our Zuber’ building.
Today the wineries are run by private businesses that welcome visitors and offer events.

Vintner Dinners
Treat yourself to a gourmet food and wine experience at a Vintner Dinner!
Whitecross Cellars offers these special themed meals in coordination with a local restaurant. They feature items not generally found on the restaurant’s menu and pair a wine with each course. The next two are happening Oct. 14 and Nov. 4.

If you’d like to enhance your stay at Zuber’s, we offer a special Wine and Chocolates for 2 package. You’ll get your choice of wine (red/white, sweet/dry, or Amana fruit wine) and chocolate or chocolate-covered strawberries. Just be sure to let us know at least 3 days in advance of your stay so we have time to prepare your treat!
