One of my favorite events that happens in the Amana Colonies is Catiri’s Fresh Paint!

This event has been held on the Labor Day weekend for 13 years!  It has grown every year.  Artists from 5 states come to the Amana Colonies and paint beautiful pictures!  Each artist has their own style of course, but it is so interesting to see paintings of the same scene by different artists and how unique each painting is.  Generally the artists paint some on Friday night, all day Saturday and some do a night time painting.  They can paint a little on Sunday and then all paintings are turned in by noon on Sunday.  That evening there is a showing where people (with tickets) can come in an purchase paintings and attend a dinner.  It is a wonderful event!  We have purchased paintings every year that we have gone!  You will find them in the hallways at Zuber’s.  Below are pictures of some of our paintings.
