When we purchased Zuber’s, the theme of this room was hunting, which you’ll still see throughout. I added to the theme to reflect all types of ourdoor recreation in the area. Now you’ll see ideas of outdoor activities such as snow skiing, snow shoes (these skiis were in the Wagon Wheel Room when we purchased it, and the snow shoes I found at a local antique store), golfing – the Amana Golf Course is said to give a good challenge to golfers, biking, hiking, area parks and recreation areas. Did you know that in July, we have a Bike and Hike Weekend, a new event in August is “Paddle the Iowa”, and in September there is a Volksmarch – a traditional German hike. While winter is a slower time there are still fun things to do! Something fun to look at are the pictures on the fireplace mantle. These are copies of pictures from the Amana Historical Museum of winter activities from the communal Amana era. Other ‘tid bits’ of info are…..I’ve been told that the deer head was added to the room after it was in an accident with a local resident. During the resturant area this room was a large dining room. I’ve been told that the fireplace was there with doors in and out of the kitchen on either side. This is a large room with plenty of space to relax in and two queen beds. It has a full bathroom, microwave and small refrigerator, and a bistro table with 2 chairs. I invite you to come enjoy this room!
