#8 – The Walnut Grove room shares a common sitting area suited for family gatherings just across from the Iowa Grand Oak. Each Amana village at one time had a planted walnut grove and pine grove which provided a wind break from the strong winds protecting each village, as well as a source of hardwood for the beautiful Amana style furniture. Our Iowa connection with this room is Iowa’s One-Room School houses.  You’ll find old school desks, old books, history about some local one-rooms schools, and yes, Washington and Lincoln are on the wall on either side of the chalk board welcoming guests to complete their assignment: relax and enjoy your visit to Zuber’s and Amana!
