Breakfasts are filling!

October 19, 2017 | Blog, News & Updates

Our goal at Zuber’s is to provide a relaxing and memorable stay. Each room is decorated differently, there are different sizes of rooms and we have queen and king beds which we trust are comfortable.  We gladly share information and stories about the Amana Colonies and their history.  The Wagon Wheel Room is a great place to gather and visit or play the piano!  We have space outdoors for guests to sit and relax or visit – weather providing.  We set out a homemade Sweet Treat daily for our guests as they check in between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m..  And we provide a filling breakfast daily which is included with your room price.

Our weekday and weekend managers cook on a regular basis and I fill in when either one of them are gone.  We have a basic menu that we work from. We enjoy some flexibility so we each can fix dishes that we want to try.  In general each day there will be an egg dish of some sort – such as a casserole that might or might not have meat in it.  We make many different kinds of French Toast.  We have Amana bread and often a sweet bread, hard boiled eggs, several kinds of fruit, and often we also offer oatmeal either fresh in the bowl or a baked oatmeal with fruit in it.  There is always juice, coffee, and water to drink.  Milk is available upon request.  Coffee drinkers can enjoy either plain or flavored coffee.   If guests have special dietary needs and they let us know prior to check-in, we do our best to accommodate as is possible, but we are not a restaurant kitchen with several cooks and we prepare the majority of our meal the day before, refrigerate it overnight, bake it and do the last minute preparation each morning.  We hope that the variety we offer will give the majority of people enough choices that they can still enjoy their breakfast.

Our breakfast is served buffet style.  We set it out at 8:00 a.m. and we pick it up at 9:30.  Guests are free to come to enjoy the meal anytime during that time frame.  Below are some pictures to give you an idea of what our breakfast looks like – what you are missing!
