May 5 – 6 is Maifest in the Amana Colonies!  Saturday is a busy day starting with a parade at 10:00.  The theme this year is Fairy Tales and Flowers.  Throughout the day you can see the Maipole Dancers, the UNI International Dance troupe, and Irish dancers.  The Festhalle barn has music and dancing going on from 11:00 – 5:00.  Outside the Festhalle Barn is “the World on Wheels”  a grouping of food trucks

each serving a different “bite of the world”.  The Woolen Mill has a variety of demonstrations throughout the day, there are activities for children ad different locations in Amana, visit the wineries and Millstream to “wet your whistle”, and stop by Ronneburg, Ox Yoke Inn, and Millstream’s Brau Haus to sit down and enjoy a meal or snack.  As always, the stores will be open for you to enjoy a shopping trip.  Many of these same activities are going on on Sunday as well.
