Bed and Breakfast in North Carolina
The final stop on our trip was Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is a unique city
unto itself and well worth a visit! Lots of history and varied architecture. Looking for a B&B online I found the Chestnut Street Inn. It is a beautiful old house, with lots of detail throughout in the woodwork and staircase.
We were greeted by new owners Emilie and Arturo. Our room was on the main floor and had a skeleton key to open the pocket doors! We were given a tour and then sat down to have a great visit! There is a beautiful parlor which adjoins to the dining room. Coffee and tea is available as well as a glass of sherry if you like. Homemade cookies are out in the afternoon for guests. After our visit with Emilie, she suggested some places to try for supper. We had a great meal and came back to relax. For breakfast we sat at a large table with 5 other guests and shared stories and ideas for sights to go see. Emilie was cooking and Arturo served out the meal. It was a wonderful start of the day.
It is definitely worth a return trip to see more of Asheville and to stay at this beautiful home which is well cared for by two detail oriented – “guest comfort focused” innkeepers.
From Asheville we headed back to Iowa and to our home. We had had a great trip, we were refreshed, relaxed, had many new ideas, and were ready to greet our guests in a new season at
Zuber’s Homestead Hotel.
