South Carolina B&B
Our next B & B was on Folly Beach, South Carolina. Water’s Edge Inn has a real “island” feel – you actually are on an outer island – James Island!!! You drive across a bridge to get there, you can see many kinds of boats, marshes, there are palm trees all around, flowers were blooming, and the weather
was warm! To enter Water’s Edge Inn, you climb about 18 stairs to get up to the door. Many of the buildings are raised up on stilts (for lack of a better word). Inside we were greeted by a hostess who checked us in, took us to our room, and then offered their special punch along with cheese, meat, and crackers for a snack. We had a nice sized room with a private deck. They surprised us with a bottle of champagne since we had shared that part of the reason we were staying was for my birthday. In this Inn, you have a lot of independence and we did not get a chance to meet the Innkeeper, however the staff was very pleasant and helpful! We enjoyed our stay going to Charleston several times. There is lots to see and do in this area. We spent some time on the beach and we went to the sister company of Water’s Edge to watch the
sunset on our last night there.
