This weekend is Wurst Festival!  You might ask, “What is ‘Wurst Festival’ ?”  Well….it is all about SAUSAGE!  June of 2015 was the first Wurst Festival in the Amana Colonies.  It is a one day event.  Made for sausage lovers!  Last year it was  voted the “Best New Festival of 2015” in Iowa!

“What is there to do?”  There will be 6 sausage makers this year from Iowa and Wisconsin who bring their “best of their wurst” for all to taste and purchase.  There will be an area to sit down and eat.  There will be beer and music to go along with the sausage and a few other items to eat.  Visitors to Wurst Festival can vote for the “Best of the Wurst” and “First in the Wurst” awards to be given to the participating sausage makers.

Along with enjoying the food – you can visit with “Dean Wiener” the head of Wurst University!  You can enroll for a class or purchase a “Wurst U” t-shirt.  The festival runs from 11:00 – 5:00 on Saturday, June 18th.
