This Saturday, June 16th, is Wurstfest in Amana!   

What is “Wurst Festival”?   It’s a sausage festival!  Food and fun related to sausage!

From 11a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Market Barn – near the Visitor Center in Amana.

From 11:30 – 3:00 Nick Stika is performing acoustic rock favorites and from 4:00 – 7:00 Full Circle will be playing Rock and Pop.

1:00 watch the Masskrugstemmen (beer holding) contest

2:00 sign up to be in the “Hang Dog” eating contest – be the first to eat a sausage hanging on a string

3:00 The Dachshund Derby will be run

Also at 3:00 is the judging for the Best of the Wurst!

5:30  bring a partner and participate in “Two on a Tube”.  Remember in Lady and Tramp – the spaghetti eating scene…..well try eating a footlong hotdog with a partner and no hands!!

There will be sausage ventors with food to purchase.    

Meet Dean Weiner of Wurst University!  You can even enroll at Wurst University for $20.00 – the Dean will fill you in on the “perks” of joining the place you will receive the “Wurst” education!!
