1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 well-beaten egg
1 c. bran
2 Tbl. water
1-1/2 c. mashed bananas
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts (walnuts)
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg then bran and mix thoroughly. Combine water and bananas; add alternately with sifted dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and walnuts. Bake in a loaf pan 1 hour at 350 degrees.
