Recipe: Crunch-Top Applesauce Bars

Recipe: Crunch-Top Applesauce Bars

1 c. sugar

½ c. shortening

1 c. unsweetened applesauce

2 c. flour

1 tsp. soda

½ tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. cinnamon

¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. cloves

1 tsp. vanilla

1 c. raisins

¼ c. nuts (chopped walnuts)

TOPPING:

⅔ c. crushed corn flakes

¼ c. chopped walnuts

¼ c. sugar

2 T. softened butter

Combine and blend together first 3 ingredients. Add the following ingredients–adding vanilla, raisins and nuts last. Spread in greased 10×15-inch jelly roll pan. Combine topping and sprinkle over top. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
