Innkeeper Bonnie says her mother-in-law taught her how to make this pie filler.

Apple Pie Filler – Frozen

Apples of your choice
Sugar
Flours
Tin pie pans
Aluminum foil
Wax paper

Peel and quarter apples.

Put in a bowl

Depending on the size of the apples, approximately 6 – 8 medium sized apples per pie.

Add 1 cup sugar, 2 Tbs. flour and dash of cinnamon (optional)

Mix to cover apple pieces

Fill pie tin with coated apples

Cover with a piece of wax paper and then a piece of foil. Pinch to seal wax and aluminum paper around the edges of the pie pan.

Date, and put in the freezer until needed.

Line a pie pan with a crust, pop frozen filling out of pie pan and into the new pan.

Optional – to sprinkle with cinnamon

Add whatever type of top crust you want.

Put a cookie sheet under the pie pan when cooking to catch any juice that may spill.

Bake in oven, 350 degrees about 90 minutes. Be sure to check during the baking time.
