Here’s a fairly simple, but delicious, recipe for butter cookies!
Butter Plätzchen (Butter Cookies)
1 cup butter
2 ¼ cups sugar
4 eggs
4 cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon soda
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat 7 minutes by electric mixer or 15 minutes by hand. Add flour sifted with soda. Roll out onto lightly floured board. Cut with cookie cutter into desired shapes. Place on greased baking sheet and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 12 to 15 minutes.
