Recipe: Kringla

June 4, 2017 | Recipes

Our recipe this week is from another new cookbook, The Pocahontas Community Hospital 25 Years of Caring 1967 – 1992.  One of the recipes from this book that we’ll be featuring in a few weeks is from Zuber’s Innkeeper Bonnie! In the meantime, we’ll have many other recipes for you to enjoy.

Kringla

½ c. butter
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
¾ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Mix all ingredients together and chill several hours or overnight. Pinch off enough dough for 1 cookie. Roll into pencil shape, then figure-8. Bake on cookie sheet at 350° until raised, but not brown. Can roll in powdered sugar to give sweeter taste.

These recipes are from The Pocahontas Community Hospital 25 Years of Caring 1967 – 1992 cookbook and are used with permission.
