Orange Poppy Seed Bread
2 T. shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
grated rind of an orange
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. salt
½ cup sweet milk
2 rounded tsp. poppy seeds
Topping – ¼ of sugar and the juice of the orange.
Spread topping on with a brush until all is absorbed; as soon as loaf comes out of the oven.
