Applesauce Loaf Nut Bread
½ cup softened shortening
1 cup thick applesauce
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
⅔ cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped nuts (I use walnuts)
Directions: Mix shortening and sugar. Stir in applesauce. Mix flour, soda, salt, and baking powder together. Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in the nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake 50-55 minutes at 350° in preheated oven.
